RIGA TU INFORMATION AND STUDY CENTER
On October 5, 2015, in the presence of HE Isura Devapriya the Chief Minister of the Western Province and the Vice-Rector of Riga Technical University, Professor Igor Tipans, the Riga Information Studies Centre in Sri Lanka was inaugurated with grandeur. The ceremony took place at the Grand Royal Education premises at World Trade Center in Colombo, Sri Lanka, hosted by university officials and ministry representatives.
The centre was established to provide accurate and first-hand information to students, facilitate smooth admissions, and strengthen collaborations between the University and Sri Lanka. This remains its primary mission.
The center has further commenced delivering RTU programs in Sri Lanka and facilitating the transition of students to RTU Latvia for the continuation of their studies.
On August 10, 2019, the Riga TU Information & Study Centre transitioned to a new, upgraded facility, purposefully designed to facilitate classes, admissions, interviews, and various sessions. This new location stands as a crucial resource for Sri Lankan students seeking to embark on their journey towards a prestigious European education in Latvia. Our study programs provide a distinctive opportunity for students to commence their academic journey in Sri Lanka during the first semester, with the seamless option to transition to Latvia for the subsequent phases of their education.
The central objective behind the establishment is to furnish students with precise, firsthand information, streamline the admission process, and foster stronger partnerships between the University and Sri Lanka. Moreover, the center has initiated the provision of RTU programs in Sri Lanka, thereby easing the transition for students to continue their studies at RTU Latvia.
